CTI Pledges to strengthen the Capacity of Manufacturing Industries in Tanzania

The Confederation of Tanzania Industries (CTI) mandate is to ensure that industries operate without hurdles and can compete on an equal footing in the international market.

The statement was made by CTI’s Executive Director Mr. Leodegar Tenga when opening a three-day workshop on Branding, marketing, Packaging, Sales and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

GIZ’s Business Scouts for Development, a German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) funded programme, has supported the workshop. The programme has launched the initiative “Promotion of Manufacturing Industries Performance through Human Capacity Development” targeting about 245 participants from 200 SMEs in the Manufacturing Sector from four regions in Tanzania

As part of the programme’s initiatives, the three-day workshop from 25th to 27th May 2021 attracted 35 participants from different manufacturing sectors such as Agro-processing, Technology and telecom, Food and Beverage, and leather and leather products.

During the training, Tanzanian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) capacity was strengthened in branding, Marketing, Packaging, sales, and CRM, aiming to enhance their competitive efforts in both local and international markets.

“Training and other capacity-building programmes are pre-requisite in updating industry knowledge and let me take this opportunity to extend my warm gratitude to the GIZ’s Business Scouts for Development for the continued collaboration in strengthening the manufacturing industries in Tanzania and for exposing them to various opportunities that connect industries with Business Actors across the globe,” Tenga said.

GIZ’s Business Scouts for Development and the leverist team introduced the match-making platform leverist.de to the participants on which companies from Tanzania will be able to explore various opportunities between the private sector and development cooperation.

GIZ’s leverist.de team shared insights and opportunities available in the digital platform that would maximize companies’ chances for long-lasting collaboration and market access.

“For business companies, this is a great opportunity to improve the ways we develop and position our products. We have learned many things and it is up to us to make the transformation. We thank CTI and GIZ Tanzania for organizing this wonderful event” said Godfrey Mkuwa, Client Management Executive Viscar Integrated Consulting Tanzania Limited.
